Based in Bakersfield, Working Across Kern County

Bakersfield is home to just over 403,000 people and sits in the middle of two industries at once: Kern is California’s most productive oil-producing county and the fourth most productive agricultural county in the United States. Refining, food processing and distribution sit on top of both. It is also where we are based, so it is the city we are in every week.

The floors follow the industries. We have coated a cold storage and warehouse building here, a printing facility in solid grey, a retail store in solid black and a juice bar — alongside the garages, patios and pool decks. What they share is the weather: an average July high of 98°F and a January low of 42°F. Hot and dry, no frost. The slab is prepped and repaired before anything goes on top of it, and that step decides how the finished floor holds up.

• Commercial kitchen flooring — food-safe systems for kitchens and prep areas.
